Have you thought about fostering a dog or cat, but you’re not quite sure what it involves?
Join Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center for a free virtual Foster Information Session and find out what it really takes to foster a shelter pet.
There’s no commitment. No pressure. Just bring your questions and meet our Foster Coordinator.
Some pets find homes quickly. Others wait weeks or months for the right family.
For a long-term shelter resident, even a short stay in a foster home can provide a valuable break from the shelter routine. A foster home gives a dog or cat a chance to relax, experience home life, get more one-on-one attention, and show us parts of their personality we may not see at the shelter.
And fostering helps us learn.
Does the dog love sleeping on the couch? How do they behave on a neighborhood walk? Is the cat a lap cat once they settle in? Do they prefer a quiet corner or want to follow you everywhere?
Those details can help us find the right adopter.
You don’t have to foster for months to make an impact. Depending on the animal and their needs, a short stay can help too.
Our Foster Information Session is an easy first step.
